Stand Up

This week me and my fellow teachers had a strike day. We are striking to stand up for YOUR education and to ensure YOU get the best education you can with the resources we need. It takes a lot to stand up and have a voice.

For your blog this week, I want you to think about something that REALLY matters to YOU! What would you stand up for and share your voice about? Why is this cause important to you? Are you currently doing anything to help make a difference?

  1. Nature matters to me because it helps us live. One way I am helping nature is by planting more trees in my uncle's backyard. The second way I am helping nature is by composting and recycling. The third way is using one plastic water bottle every year or so. The fourth way is not to eat too many chips because chips are in a plastic bag and plastic comes from trees. That is how I am helping the world and nature and yes I am currently doing it.

  2. Earth is our home and we need to protect our home for ourselves and for others. I protect mother earth by

1.Using reusable containers for my lunch. So it will be less trash produce.
2.I grow plants in my home so they can produce fresh oxygen.
3.My family and I do not buy plastic water bottles because they are not good for environment.
4.I use reusable straws instead of disposal straws (Remember that poor turtle that has straw stuck on his nose).
5.I do not waste water as well as we all know we have 1% of accessible drinkable water left in the world.

  3. Something that everyone needs to stand up and have a voice for is pollution. If this pollution problem keeps up Global Warming will get even worse! Air pollution, littering.. Affects us everyday. You might not know this but, flora, fauna, and humans only have 1% accessible drinking water left because of pollution! Even though I am writing about how important pollution and Global Warming is to us, we pollute and we don’t notice. Still try your best to have a voice and stand up for pollution and other important things we need to have a voice for and stand up!

  4. Something that matters to me is animal rights. This cause is important to me because every day animals are abandoned and abused. I think that what should be done is if you can’t handle a dog or a cat. Drop them off at the humane society, no questions asked. And since there are so many more animals on the streets and abused, if you see an animal on the streets or abused please call the humane society and file a report. So if you see an animal on the streets or abused call the humane society’s. Don’t investegate it yourself, leave it to the professionals.

  5. We really need to help the environment. This is important to help keep our world clean and not polluting and throwing garbage in the ocean to help save the animals.
We need to do our part to recycle things and reuse items instead of all the waste going in the garbage.
At home I make sure to put the things in the green and blue bins and also make sure I don’t litter.

  6. Blog post - Stand Up
For our blog post this week, we were asked to write about something that we really cared about, something that we would stand up and share our voice about. I think we all share something that we really care about - our parents and our family. I would die to help and protect them, but we all would, right? So if I want the best for my family and all the people I care about, I would have to care about the place that we live in - our Earth - the blue planet. Earth is the only known place to live so far, or at least places that we would be able to get to. Sure, there are probably millions of other planets in the Goldilocks Zone. The Goldilocks Zone is the place in a solar system that has a planet in a place which is not too hot but not too cold, just right. It gets its name from the fairy tale ‘Goldilocks And The 3 Bears’. Earth is in the Goldilocks Zone because it is able to maintain life because of the perfect temperature. Anyways it would take millions if not billions of years to go to the other planets in the Goldilocks Zone and many, many years to evolve to live there even if it has the necessities for life. I sure wouldn’t want to be stuck in a tiny space craft with limited food and water for a million years, and I’m guessing you wouldn’t want to either. So it’s important to take care of the planet that we have now. So, in short, something that really matters to me is our planet, and that is what my blog post this week is all about.

1st Question: What would you stand up for and share your voice about?
I would share my voice about protecting and doing our best to save our planet and stop climate change and global warming so that humans don’t go extinct along with our only planet in our solar system that we can live in.

2nd Question: Why is this cause important to you?
Well, as I explained, our Earth is the only place that we can live so far. Maybe in the future we could have one of those spaceships that blasts through space so we could get to those other planets I mentioned that are able to sustain life , but we’re talking about the future, and this is the present where we don’t have all those high tech machines that they show in action movies. So it is important to take care of our planet so that we have a good and healthy generation.

3rd Question: Are you currently doing anything to help make a difference?
I actually am doing something to help stop climate change. For about a year now, I’ve been using less electricity and water, I’ve been planting trees, I have LED light bulbs, I am not using plastic water bottles and straws, I’ve been using as much sunlight as I can and I’ve also been using my bike and roller blades for travel whenever I can. I’ve also convinced my parents to help as well, and I think you should think of doing these things whenever you can because together we can stop climate change before it's too late.

So that is the cause - Protecting Earth and stopping climate change - that I would stand up for and those are my reasons. Climate change is a big issue that affects all of us so I hope we all start trying our best to protect the blue planet, our only home.

  7. I would stand up for peace and not war. there are a lot of bad things going around us and my voice would be heard telling everyone to sort out their problems- oh yeah i don't think its a problem to be mad at one another- everyone gets angry but i think that solving it peacefully instead of fighting and hurting that we could maybe do it a different way. anyways... I'm saying that you could solve it by helping one another. also, if we sometimes made better choices then I won't even have to be saying this. So I know that it would be hard for just one 10-year old boy trying to make the world a more peaceful place but if we all just make one little contribution toward this it could'nt hurt could it? and i hope one day maybe.... there will be peace around us.

    that's my blog post

  8. The thing I want to stand up for is to make peace. World War 3 is coming in 106 days, and a lot of Americans are not happy about getting drafted into it.In war, millions,or even billions of people get killed slaughtered! But if we have peace, there will be no deaths and everyone would be happy! So,that is why I chose peace.

  9. I would save extracurriculars because it's fun for us kids to do what clubs we like during break and we don't half to feel like we were trapped in school all the time.I am currently not doing this but i am going to try to start.

  10. SONALI :D 🍪🍪28 January 2020 at 18:36

This week for our blog post, we had to write something that we need to stand up for and have a voice for. So I wrote about pollution & littering etc. Here are some reasons why we should stand up and have a voice for pollution & littering etc. The animals are dying!!! People litter on beaches a lot and the ocean carries plastic and things like that into the ocean, and then the straws and things like that get stuck in the animals nostrils.. and then they die. People pollute the world by driving their vehicles. In some places there are a lot of people, so they drive their vehicles then, they the city or town, and then people get sick and sometimes they die. Also because of pollution humans and animals are now only accessible to 1% of drinking water!
So this is why we should stand up and have a voice for pollution & littering and other things that are important in this world!

  11. I would stand up for human rights.Everybody is born equal but some people do not think that way.Thankfully Canada is a free country but unfortunately countries like Burma where the Rohingan Muslims are being slayed or countries like India where basic human right of citizenship is being challenged are facing racism. That is why we should fight for freedom and human rights in every country.

  12. Pollution (plastic)

I am talking about pollution because it is important to many animals life and our own and making a difference will help drastically to our lives.
Its important to me as everybody else because its making life harder and worse for most people and animals and it would help if we changed that.I currently am not doing anything because most people wont listen to someone who hasn't even graduated so later in the future when I will have a louder voice I will use it to fix this cause.

  13. Something that’s really important to me is to reduce plastic waste in oceans. Polluting causes animals to die and makes the oceans an unhealthy place to live in. The steps I’m taking are to use reusable bags when I’m shopping and I’m using reusable bottles and straws!

  14. I would like to stand up for alot of things, for example my teachers, the planet and what goes on in it, for example how the planet is being destroyed by people who litter so I decided to take a stand for the planet . The planet is suffering. People realize it but are completely ignoring the fact that they are, and for them doing this they are not only killing animals and polluting the are but also killing the earth, our environment our land is dying because of what we do to it. We need to stop the world isn’t our landfill or our dumpster. We are meant to be the oens protecting it not the other way around it is protecting us it let us into it’s home it’s body. Think of it this way we are invading it’s privacy. We were welcomed freely no price to pay and now what do we do? Stab it in the back. Now it’s time for us to take a stand spread the word the world doesn’t belong to us. We belong to it! We can’t sit back and watch as our planet dies slowly and fades we fades away and we fade away with it! Our home. We shouldn’t take it for granted! As kids we might think we aren’t able to do anything but we are wrong we can’t doubt ourselves. The world isn’t our landfills. As the vscos will say “Save the turtles” and I say “SAVE THE PLANET! NO MORE LITTER! NO MORE DUMPING!” clear the streets, spread the word. This is our world, our time. Don’t let the ignorants mess with our destiny. Save the planet, save our homes.

  15. This week for our blog post we had to something that we need to stand up and have a voice for. So I wrote about polluting & littering in the water. Here are a few reasons we should stand up and have a voice for polluting and littering in the water. The animals in the water are dying!!! Some people have been littering on the beaches a lot and the waves wash the pollution in and out of the water. Sometimes the waves wash it so far that it gets to the middle of the ocean and the pollution causes the animals to die. Just like the whale that had died because of all the pollution.
That is why we should not litter or pollute near the water or anywhere.

So this is why we should stand up and have a voice for pollution & littering and other things that are important in this world!

  16. Standing up? I wish.. If only I was brave enough to stand up to stuff. I have lots and lots of things that I would want to stand up for, I mean sure I can stand up for little thing but not huge things like judging. And that's what I am choosing to stand up for. It is definitely not ok to judge for their own uniqueness, I think that it's ok to have your own differences and struggles or opinions and that it is definitely not accepted to judge any of that.
I’ve always wondered why they judge anyways if they knew it was going to hurt your feelings. I mean it's obvious now that it hurts your feelings and people just do it without thinking “why am I doing this” or “ is this going to benefit me in anyway?” .
Are they just jealous of our differences?
    Now to the important questions:

Why is this so important to me? It's important because I'm really getting sick and tired of people judging and I think they should really just mind their own business. It’s just going to hurt our feelings.
EVERYONE'S feelings count even if its the person judging you they still matter because they are human like us.
But even if they can’t judge people for no reason, it’s not going to benefit them in anyway so just stop judging and just accept people for who they are and their
opinions and most of all respect they’re feeling!!!!!!

Am I doing anything to help? Well sort of… whenever somebody judges me I tell them to stop and fight back. But for the whole school or like other people I don't really know I don't really make posters to tell people to stop but I do mostly help my friends whenever they are getting judged and tell them to leave them alone and fight back. I'm going to continue to try to help my friends and peers when they get judged. And also here I am standing up and telling my class to never ever judge.

So, basically my point is don’t ever judge or else death is near you, im joking haha, but seriously don’t judge its annoying and uncivil.

  17. Blog post-stand up
this week for our blog post we were supposed to write about something we really cared about. What i really care about is technolagy useage, you may be thinking 'why would you write about that' or 'thats not really important'. To me this is acctuly pretty important you might say well you really need technolagy to do work and connect with your parents in an emergency and i would totally agree with all that but most of us even me use tecnolagy way to much. On average i think we all spend at least 3-4 hours on our phone, ipad computer and more,Ex. I am using a computer (TECNOLAGY) to type why we should not use too much technolagy!! ok i told you what i cared about but your probely thinking " well she did not prove anything so i am going keep watching youtube an tick tok on my ipad " well here are some of the pros and cons on why we should use LESS technolagy!!

    Pros

    Good for emergency's

Easier to talk to friends when ur somewhere else

    Easier to do homework on

    Cons

    Bad for our eyesight

Learn bad language and things from videos and tic toks

(Did u Know) when you are holding your phone or ipad there are these rays apparenty that go from your hand to your brain that is why when you are typing or watching TV for a long time your head hurts ( also i think this true beacuse i learned it at camp by a scientist/doctor)

    Your attitude turns bad.

    You find inaproprite content

There were 3 pros that i could think of right now
and there were 5 cons that i could think of.
Thete are probely much more pros and defenitly more cons

but overall what i think we should all do is use less technolagy i understand we all need to do work but we should try to use less tech to watch viedeos and do useless stuff.

  18. I want to spread kindness so I show people that when I am somewhere like the school I show kindness if I can. So if you see me helping someone out when they're sad or being kind to someone. I am trying to spread kindness so I wish people see that kindness is actually a bigger thing that it looks like. I've been hoping this by spreading kindness as much as I can. I want to say please be kind to someone that is sad or needs help. Thank you.

    Sincerely Mazin

  19. The thing that matters most to me; Being one of the most baddest, violent, and cruelest problems of this world, being a problem to every country in the world, I will not tell it at first, But instead tell how it matters more than anything else that you can think of. First of all, It's not of what we are living in, or the things bad for us. This is about who we are.Where we are. What we do. What we eat. What clothes we have. Our skin tone. Our religion. Yes, now what I think is what we shall fight for is HUMAN RIGHTS.

Now why stand up for human rights?

Now what I am talking about might not even make sense to you. Why bother? Like why risk everything just for someone to not be bullied? Now why not listen to someone who has witnessed it and has seen it with their own eyes? Yeah, When I.C.I.S started disobeying human rights and not following the laws, people thought it was their religion to blame not themselves. Now I am Muslim but for some reason they started disobeying human rights and saying Muslims are bad and all of that which is why I am talking about this.

  20. I care about the environment. If we don't put an end to polluting and throwing our trash everywhere the world is going to end. Im constantly trying to pick up most of the garbage I see so I am trying to make a difference.
