We talked this week about citizenship and what it means to be a Canadian citizen. We learned that there are certain responsibilities we as Canadian citizens have that we are expected to follow. Such as -voting in elections -obeying the law -treating other citizens with respect and defending our country if there is a war.
For your blog post this week I want you to think about our Classroom Community, you are all citizens of our community. What are your responsibilities as a member of our classroom community? Try to come up with at least 3 responsibilities you think we have and explain why these are important to having a good community.
Here are some responsibilities that we should obey in the classroom.

Here are some class responsibilities we have in our class community:
ReplyDelete1. Class jobs - Every Monday we choose new class jobs. This responsibility is important because everyone has a job to do (Except for the people on a break) around the classroom.
2. Always listening carefully to whoever is speaking at the front - We need to do this responsibility so we don’t miss important info.
3. Keeping our classroom environment clean - We need to clean the portable so we don’t get bugs or other dirty things in the class environment.
Here are some class responsibilities in our class community.

Jobs like recycling bins and super sweepers are good for our class because it doesn’t get dusty and stinky. Our green and blue bins also need to be emptied so our class doesn’t fill up with garbage . Recycling is good also for the environment.
Our class library too because we need to return the books when we’re done so it is fair for others that want to read the book. The book is in its place for someone to read it.

ReplyDelete1. Keeping our classroom clean - since we spend most of our day at school, it is important to have a clean environment.
2. Being good classmates and students - being kind and respectful to everyone is important because we spend a lot of time at school so it is important that we are kind to each other and not arguing and have a peaceful environment.
3. Handing in work on time (homework, math assignments etc.) - it is important to hand in assignments on time because when we are older and have jobs, we will have to hand in projects intime and if we don’t we could get in big trouble, so it’s best to prepare for doing this when we are young so we get practice and don’t make mistakes when we are older.
4. Following school and classroom rules - it’s important to follow school and classroom rules because they are meant to keep us safe and even if students like us aren’t able to see how they are to protect us, there is still a reason that there are those rules, for example a rule like not leaving school property during school hours, because it keeps us safe.
So those are 4 of the many responsibilities that we have in our classroom community and being good classroom citizens.

3 things I think are important to are class Community are respecting others, help clean up and keep encouraging people. I think respecting others is very important because being mean is no way to be and we should respect are religions and skin tones we do not want not to discourage someone just because of their religion. I also think we should also help clean up because if we just think that someone else will do it and they are dealing with there own desk and you keep doing it, your desk is going to look super bad. Encouraging people is very important because if someone is like “aw, I did bad on this check-in” and someone beside you says “ wow, you did do bad” you are going to feel bad. That is the 3 things I think we should do to make are class a better class.

ReplyDelete2.Keeping our class neat and tidy,i mean you don't want our class to look like trash.This is a big responsibility because if we don't keep our class clean it won't have a good impression on us when other teachers come in.
3.Being on time.I think being on time is very important because you dont wanna show up late to class,or hand in your homework late.And finishing a test on time.It will keep the class more organized because you wont have un done work here and there.
1.Making sure that my working place and desk is tidy and I’m respectful of the people that are beside me by not leaving things all over. 2. Making sure that I am doing my part with the classroom jobs and helping out like teachers assistant, food handler, light sign. 3. matter how we look, were we come from and what we believe everyone should be treated the same no one should be ranked lower or higher than anyone we don't wear price tags and we shouldn't make imaginary ones for ourselves.
2. Respect each others differences. Being unique is very important we shouldn't all be the same. Being unique is what seperates us from the rest and makes us special and it deserves to be treated in a high rank of respect.
3. Be on time. I think punctuality is very important because time is one of the most valuable gifts we have ever been given and it should not be taken for granted.
As good classroom community we have many things to be responsible for and for this blog I will tell you three classroom responsibilities that are really important and maybe we need to start to pay attention to them more often, I personally and honestly admit that I might need to work on one of these responsibilities. So here are three responsibilities for our classroom community
ReplyDelete1. Respecting the teacher while she is talking - I think we, as a class, kind of need to improve on this responsibility. Most of us don’t do a great job at this but still this is a really important classroom responsibility. So, it’s really important to listen and pay attention while the teacher is talking and also not to talk while the teacher is teaching or talking.
2. Being kind to all citizens - we always have to be kind to every citizen in the classroom. Even though this classroom has got many arguments we still be kind to each other by saying “ thank you” or “please” and more. Being nice to each other helps us build and peaceful and better community. And also being nice makes the teachers job easier, no arguments, no fights but getting along with each other.
3. Cleaning the classroom without having to be reminded - As a good classroom community we need to have a healthy environment. If you had a healthy environment we would feel more organized and if we would be organized we would feel like we have more space in the class. This is a really important rule to do because having a cleaner environment makes a better community.
And those are the reasons I thought were the most important to keep doing to have a great community. And we might need to improve on some but that's ok if we still try to do it.
When it comes to the classroom there are many responsibility's that the classroom citizens (students) have to uphold. These responsibility's are very important to follow as it does not just give you good grades but also makes the classroom a place that is a clean,safe environment.
ReplyDelete☞ Listen to the teacher when she is talking ~ don't start reading when the teacher is talking because it does not effect other students/citizens (well, sometimes if they are interested with your book) but it does affect the teacher as you are not respecting her and it seems as she's wasting her voice for no reason.
☞ Waste in place ~ it has recently occurred that many of us have not been putting our waste in place.This specific rule does not help us but the whole world!��
☞Squeaky clean ~ We all know that portables can easily get dirty. Why not clean it?

I think we should have responsibilities like 1. We should all have to clean because if we did not then our mess would have to be cleaned by someone else and that's not fair. 2. We should all listen to the teacher when she is talking otherwise she will have to Shout and if she shouts and shouts and shouts then her voice will get lower and lower that is why we should take care of our teachers 3. to be nice to each other because if someone gets hurt or someone is saying bad words to each other it's not nice and you should not be doing that you should stand up for them.

2.Be organized.We of course dont want our desks or classroom to look awful and digusting so we should take good care of the things we have.
